My Journey

I grew up in Pembrokeshire, a beautiful county on the West coast of Wales. Living in a small community with close friends and family made me realise the importance of close connections and the beautiful coastal scenery sparked my love of the outdoors. I moved around the South of England in my 20's, studying and working in Plymouth, Bristol and Brighton, before travelling to NZ in 2015.

Throughout my life I have been on my own wellbeing journey and am dedicated to supporting others with theirs. During my teenage years I battled with binge eating, anorexia and depression, all due to a lack of confidence in the person I was. After returning to a healthy weight I continued to have health issues and was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). The load on my body was huge during this time- I was in a stressful job, eating processed foods and drinking too much alcohol. I then discovered exercise, particularly running, which benefited me on many levels. However I began to push my body too hard and would feel tremendous guilt if I wasn't doing it everyday. I experienced a number of injuries and irregular periods, leading to a diagnosis of Relative Energy Deficiency Syndrome (RED-S), a condition where the body is not taking in enough energy to meet the demands placed on it by the amount of exercise performed.

I decided it was time for a change when I travelled to New Zealand. This holiday turned into residency and I now live permanently in Christchurch. Since being in New Zealand I have re- connected with my values, including my love for the outdoors. I have worked with therapists and engaged in my own study to explore what I need to be the best version of myself. Part of this journey included tramping the length of the South Island on the Te Araroa trail in 2021- it's here I learnt what my body and mind is capable of, leading to a greater sense of confidence in the person I am.

I have realised there are many contributors to wellbeing and what these are will vary for each individual. My own wellbeing needs include having a mindset of acceptance and kindness, close relationships, a purposeful career, plenty of sleep, hobbies and relaxation. With these in balance, I now focus on eating for nourishment and exercising in a kind way that keeps me strong and healthy.

There is no one size fits all approach to what makes us feel our best selves. My goal is to walk alongside you in this journey and find what works best for you.

My Career

I am a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach (through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, New York). This enables me to support clients using a range of dietary theories, alongside knowledge of issues such as gut health, digestion, hormonal imbalances and adrenal health. It has also taught me to view health and wellbeing through a holistic lens- It is not only the foods we eat, but many other aspects of life that can either nourish or deplete us.

I have also been a registered Social Worker for 8 years, working in the UK and New Zealand. During this time I have supported children, adults and families, applying therapeutic skills including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing.

Wellbeing trail brings together my therapeutic experience and Health Coach skills to support my clients in their wellbeing journey. The relationships I build with my clients are extremely important to me and I aim to create a space that is compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental.
